4. Becos base on the icon, i can seem that small object is easier than a large object. isn't it? Let's see as a small object were zoom in, and then you can see the tiny dot on above! Sorry, i was trying hard to explain bout it. Don't know whether correct or not. xD
5.Yeah sure. I don't really understand about the icon, maybe it is creative. Mainly, i can see that he spend all his time on this project,well keep it up!

4.it's obvious that each icon has stress on what they are and like in vector 3rd there's a welcome sign,which we can assume that it means "welcome home..."
5.yes,it is cute but if cactus wasn't the main character,it will b better..(unless it is compulsory to use cactus/mexico as ur main idea)because no significant enough so that ppl can leave deep impression after seeing that icons.....

Q5. Yes, all the icons have the same main figure with the different message. For the vector can see is the same family because there the dust at the bottom and same size cactus.

I would say, there are room for improvements,the icon is too small to be seen and your graphic is too complicated for a small icon, it gives me eyes strain to identify the differences in it. In sum, i think you should use a simple and strike design instead.
